Some really nice piano improvisation , played in the Ionian Mode in D.

I’ve stuck this in the Expert Piano section , because while most of the actual notes played may be relatively easy enough for most intermediate players , the actual idea of using and understanding modes and then improvising on them is a bit harder to learn.

Also , check out some of the left hand stretches , some are about 16 semitones long so this may be difficult for those with little hands

    Wonderful improv! Beautiful, contemplative, rich chords and subtle dissonances. I wish I had your stretch (I can barely make a major ninth on white notes) — I’d love to be able to play those full chords you play so easily! Thanks
